South-Island 2 November

I haven’t got that much to tell today. We left Banks Peninsula after a lovely chat with some Dutch people who are just starting their trip.

After that, we had a relaxed drive to Woodend Beach Camping, a very large campsite with 400 pitches, although it is mostly empty at the moment.

We spent half an hour walking two kilometres, unsuccessfully looking for the start of a walking track. It turned out that the road was closed, but eventually we managed to find the start anyway.

I can sum up the walk quite simply: we certainly got plenty of fresh air and wind, and we didn’t even walk along the beach!

The advantage of this location, though, is that we’re very close to where we have to return the campervan, about a 20-minute drive away. That will save us a lot of stress the day after tomorrow.

I took the sunset photos yesterday evening. It really was spectacular.

Today, only the clouds were worth taking a photo of.
