South Island 31 October

We survived a storm! The gusts of wind last night were no fun at all, to put it mildly. We thought we had experienced the worst of it down south, but last night was even worse.
The campervan was shaking all night long, and our earplugs did very little to block out the sound of the howling wind.
And now we have the most beautiful New Zealand weather again.
It was only a short drive to our next campsite. Akaroa is a lovely little town with lots of original wooden houses. We went for a nice walk that involved quite a steep climb, but we were rewarded with beautiful panoramic views.
Tomorrow we are planning to go for a somewhat longer walk.
The last photo isn’t a particularly good one, but the sparrows here are so cheeky that they simply hop into the campervan looking for scraps of food.
