North Island 5 October Campervan pick-up

What an exciting day today. For the first time, I ordered an Uber 🙂 to take us to the campervan rental company. Uber worked brilliantly. I had barely placed the order when the driver was already at the door.
Fortunately, Henk is feeling much better.
Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a while at the campervan rental company, but they really take their time with everyone, so it was worth the wait.
For anyone who would like to see which campervan we have: https://www.wilderness.co.nz/motorhome-hire-nz/twin-king-2-slim
Because people drive on the left in New Zealand, we first did a practice lap. It felt as if I had to take my driving test all over again, I was so nervous, but everything went well. It isn’t smooth yet, but everything is under control.
First we did some grocery shopping and then headed north, straight through busy Auckland. The area around Auckland was busy, but it went reasonably well. We have a brand-new campervan with only 700 km on the clock, which makes it even more exciting.
After just over three hours of driving, we arrived at Pine Beach Campground, a beautiful location.
We have more or less settled into the campervan and are now hopefully going to enjoy a wonderful night’s sleep.
