- Kauri trees
This morning we took it easy waking up; it was another beautiful sunny morning. Afterwards, we went for a short walk along the lake.
We only had a short drive to the next campground. This campground is right next to an ancient forest where kauri trees grow. Absolutely beautiful and very impressive; one of the trees is 1,200 years old. I found it truly impressive. I spoke to someone in the ancient forest who had visited the Mother of the Kauri, but thought that one of the trees here was every bit as impressive.
Henk cooked in our little ‘kitchen’ for the first time. It smells delicious.
